Candy Kraft's History

When Claude Ball first opened his door to sell handmade candies the fresh cream he used was delivered by horse-drawn wagons.  That was in 1935. Now, over 80 years later, although delivery methods have changed, the same quality ingredients are producing the same quality candies.

Ownership changed in 1958 to a husband-wife team, Loren & Blanche Pratt.  In 1973 they hired a Guilderland High School student to work part-time.  He (Bob Pikcilingis) apprenticed under Loren for 11 years.   Bob and his wife, Donna, bought the business from them in 1984.  Their 3 children, Julie, Brad and Heidi, have grown up in the candy store, helping out whenever they could.  Their son, Brad, joined the family business full time in 2006.

Over the years the business has maintained its personal touch while growing to serve wholesale markets.  We invite you to experience our handmade candy that has captured the palates of many generations.
